  • We are running iFIX 5.8 with OPC20iFIX.1 OPC server. We are using the OPCInt PI interface with this OPC server. All the point types for AI, AO, DI and DO are working fine. When we try adding a DR or an AR data type point to PI the OPC20iFIX.1 OPC server will crash. I looked at the configuration of the points in PI and they appear to be correct. I am wondering what would cause the OPC20iFIX.1 server to crash because of the REGISTER type point in PDB as opposed to AI, DI, etc.  Thanks for any help!!

  • I have hit a brick wall here.  Can you offer any assistance?    When logging into the multiuser server from a client installed on the same machine as the server, I can connect.  When using a remote client on the network, I get the error depicted below.  I can reach the multiserver Admin from the remote machine.
If I browse to http://remoteservername:11099/ (the server on which the multiuser server is hosted.)  The browser returns the following text

  • Hello all,

I'm currently running into a problem in that I just realized I need to run my iFIX screens in another resolution. I have been developing my screens in a 1280x1024 resolution but now I also need to run those screens in a 1920x1080 resolution. My questions are as followed:

    1) Is it possible to create one set of screens that can be used for both resolutions? I'm running iFIX 5.8 and the screens were created using the logical coordinate system. I used the wizard to upgrade to the enhance coordinate system and it kept the images the same size but left a lot of empy space.

    2) Would it be best to develop my screens on the higher resolution and have it scale down or the other way around.

Also, any general advice from anyone who had to develop screens for multiple resolutions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you.

  • Dear Community (Ex- Forum)
When I create a FDS group in a iclient.it is (well known)...time-consuming. My application is "reading a list of tags under operator request"
I see , the operator has to wait the group creation, reading process and finally my code remove the group

    My question
What if I create the FDS  group ONE time (keep it in memory) at the startup of the iclient  and read it under request. I wouldn't remove the group created at all.
Is it not efficient for the iclient performance and cause troubles for the iclient operation (i.e. memory overload)?

  • I have a customer looking to switch from a 9030 based IC694APU305   to the IC695HSC304.   I am told that they should be able to get the same functionality out of the units except for the graycode.   What I need is some sample code to get them started.  I think that they have used the APU305 to change the setpoints of the start and stop points for outputs on the fly, not hardcoded in configuration.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Cimplicity 9 Sim11 with 30K+ points on a windows server 2012 R2 .
It takes very long time to retrieve points when searching or through equipment>Devices.
A similar post was issued a year ago, but I don't see any improvement with latest SIM.
Is there  a solution for that? do you familiar how to indexing the Cimplicity points data file, so search will be faster ?

  • I know a few folks have used the JanusGrid ActiveX control in iFIX. I have succesfully been using it for several years.
Recenlty upgraded the servers to 2008R2 (64bit), and the problem began.
Janus Grids work fine in Run mode, and going to Config after run mode is fine. But when opening a picture from the system tree in Config mode, I get a compile error in the RowFormat event, telling me that have and IF without the End IF.  It is definitely not the case, the code is fine.  I can stop the code in the VBE, but then Workspace crashes when trying to go back to the picture from the VBE.  Crashes every time.   I've changed the code to use Case statments, and then tried it with only a Msgbox as the only line in the RowFormat Event.  Always get a compile error of some sort, and it crashes again.
Anybody using the JanusGrid sucessfully on a 64-bit platform?
Btw, i have tried checking/unchecking Message reflection, unregistering the ActiveX, re-registering it, re-registered it into the SysWOW64 folder, etc. Nothing seems to work.
    Any suggestions?

  • Would anyone know the difference between Horner P\n HE693THM889E and Horner P\n HE693THM809E.

During the upgrade of a customers older system we accidentally purchased the 889E which does not seem to communicate but the older 809E cards will.

Any advice to get them to work would be appreciated.

Nothing to be found on the Hepag website.
